Finance Director

Hailing from an Agriculture family, he rose to the position of a notable financial expert. With a brilliant education since schooling, completed both UG and PG in Agriculture with University Gold Medals in the year 1971. Shifted his career path from Agriculture to Financial Management. Entered the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and completed the PG course successfully.

He took up an assignment in a senior position in a Nationalised Bank. Got wide exposure in project financing, refinance management, recruitment and training of Agriculture Officers besides intensive administrative matters. Held Directorship in three Gramin Banks and helped the Banks to raise to newer scales in achieving their objectives.

The Government of India, after a nation-level talent search, selected him to head and rehabilitate a sinking Cooperative Bank owned by it. He took the assignment as a challenge and in three years wiped out losses accumulated by the Bank for over 19 years.  Promoted three more subsidiaries successfully. Under his stewardship the Bank made remarkable strides in the field of Self Help Group funding. Received acclaims and awards from various sectors including an international award.

Joined SRM group in 2011 mainly to look after Finance Portfolio. Deeply involved in the establishment of SRM Sikkim University, SRM AP University, SRM Dubai office, SRM Public School and development of the College of Agricultural Sciences. The efficient management of finance of SRMIST helped the Institution to maintain an uninterrupted flow of funds to all developmental activities, streamlining systems and procedures, economise expenditure, meeting the statutory requirements on time, bringing in disciplined debt management, etc. He always feels many more miles to go in his career path.
