The department has a placement team who under the guidance of Head of the Department will coordinate with the centralized university Placement cell and facilitate the placement process. Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering has a consistent record of gaining near to 100% job placements over the years. The students of Electrical and Electronics Engineering have been finding coveted positions in reputed corporate and business houses that visit the campus every year. Carrier Training and Placement Center is an integral part of our institute. The institute has provided the complete infrastructure for effective functioning of the cell which is located in 13^th floor university block. Training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the potential students for the campus selection programme. From the first semester onwards the personality development course is integrated in the curriculum which helps the students to crack the initial level of placement test. In addition, the department provides technical training, group discussions and mock interview to help the students to prepare for the next level of placement process. Apart from the main project work, mini project and industrial training given in the third year of the curriculum, lot of internships and expert lectures from industry and academia were arranged to get practical experience and better understanding of subjects. The placement team of EEE along with the department alumni chapter (ACEEE) organizes many pre-placement activities and training programmes where the alumni share their experience and the present market trends. This has led the institute to emerge as a favoured destination for many national and international companies to recruit the fresh talent nurtured in the Institute.

All the on-campus recruitment notifications, registrations are made online using a dedicated application platform called “SUPERSET”. Superset is a one-stop solution for end-to-end Placement services, ranging from effective corporate outreach tracking to a seamless communication for the Administrators in campuses among themselves as well as with the students. Every student enrolled for placement process is provided login credentials to a Superset Application which they can access at any time of the day and get updated of all the placement process. The students can get updated of all the placement activities happening 24 x 7 and keep track of all the opportunities available to them. The department placement cell with its dedicated faculty coordinators organizes the entire placement and training activities in line with the institute’s Career Centre. The department placement cell, apart from placement activities, also guides the interested students in opportunities available for higher studies in their area of interest in prestigious institutes in India and abroad.

The Department through Professional Societies like SRM Marine Technological Society, ENFUSE and Alumni chapter of Electrical and Electronics Engineering provides additional placement and internship opportunities to students. Electrical Engineers have a broad spectrum of opportunities in Power sectors, Government sectors, Electrical Instruments, Electronics and other multidisciplinary industrial sectors. Many IT industries also recruit Electrical Engineering students which they support for the technical computing role. Around 90% of the students are placed in reputed industries practicing core and allied engineering, through campus recruitment and the remaining 10% prefer higher studies in India and abroad.
