“Surveying and site planning form an important part of the architectural design process. Hence, students are introduced to the concepts of this domain as part of their course work during the 3rd semester of their B.Arch. study. Concepts of surveying are best understood with a hands-on experience of the equipment, and hence this course work is taught as a theory and laboratory course. The Department of Architecture of SRM has in place properly maintained equipment like metric chains, tapes, theodolites and all accessories for plane table surveying and chain surveying.”
