SRM Institute of Science and Technology was awarded with the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) Excellence Award 2022 as the “DSCI Excellence Award for Cyber Security Evangelists – Cyber Security Education” for proving quality Cyber Security Education.

Student Achievements
Students have participated and won in various national level and International level Competitions like Hackathon, Hacktoberfest, Codematrix, Conference, Workshops etc.,
- Rajat Mongia (RA1911031010111) got selected for AMTDC – IIT Madras on the internship Opportunity
- Shyam Babu P RA1911030010019 In TryHackMe has Moved top 1% in the rank list. And received ‘Pentester’ Badge.
- Sri Krishna Siddhardha Varma K (RA2011030010003) from Cyber Security specialization participated in various events of Crack the Code by Coding ninjas and won 1st prize in quiz competition and 8th rank in overall events.
- Soumiya Chadha, Aishani Ghosh, Ishi Saxena from IT specialization participated in the Hackathon event Hack the Gap and won 1st prize.
- Motati Ram Prakash Reddy from Computer Networking specialization sought 1st place in Bajaj HackRx 2.0 Hackathon.
- Sumrit Grover from IoT specialization sought 3rd place in Double Slash.
Mungara Ganesh Haricharan , Soorneedi Pranai Govind, Yashodhana Shukla, Eshaan Bhardwaj and Chinmay Somani from Cyber Security specialization has successfully completed Gurugram Police Cyber Security Summer Internship 2021 with excellent performance rating. - Udit Dhawan from cloud computing sought 11th place in IndyComps Quiz.
Jahanvi Solanki from cloud computing specialization got Best Research Paper award in ICIOT 2020 conference.
Faculty Achievements - International Collaborations
- Revathy Venkatraman, along with Prof.C. Raghu Raghavendra, Professor of Electrical Engineering and Vice Dean, Global Academic Initiatives, University of Southern California, Los Angeles. Submitted a joint SPARC proposal in January 2020 and organized technical webinars in May 2020.
- Revathy Venkatraman, along with Prof. Raj Gururajan, Associate Head of School and Program Director of Master of Cyber Security at University of Southern Queensland. Submitted a joint proposal with him for Indo- Australian Research Grant related to COVID-19.
- K.Annapurani Panaiyappan, One semester during the period of January 2020 – June 2020 went to Universiti Teknologi of Brunei, Brunei in the School of Computing and Informatics. Have authored two books chapters in collaboration along with the two Professors of Brunei. Also have conducted one Workshop on Blockchain technologies during the period of June 2020 for their faculties.
- Department has got best Faculty members where 60% of faculties were Doctorates. Recently one of our Faculty Dr.P.Supraja honoured with AICTE Visvesvaraya Best Teacher Award 2021, at New Delhi on Sept 5th 2021.
- Kayalvizhi Jayavel Co-PI for the special Collaborative research grants to address Covid-19 pandemic. Among the various submissions, this team of experts from UR and SRM bagged this award with a grant amount of INR 45,00000 for their proposal titled “A Technologically empowered health care delivery in the era of Covid-19”.
- M.B.Mukesh Krishnan visited UC Berkeley, California as a Visiting fellow and undergone a Start up semester at Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology at the University of California, Berkeley.
- P.Supraja completed Indo-US WISTEMM Research fellowship at University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA funded by IUSSTF and DST Govt of India also She served as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Northumbria University, Newcastle, UK.
- MoU Signed with VEI Technolgies, Cube Difference, Vectra Technosoft Pvt. Ltd. and AJNA Labs to enhance students’ Internships, introducing one credit course, Industry Collaborative Project and publications etc.,
- K.Meenakshi worked in Taiwan-India Joint Research Center project on Artificial Intelligence – Smart Pandemic Prevention System (SPPS) organized by the National Chung Cheng University (CCU) and IIT Ropar along with SRM IST
