Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has been conducting the Impact Survey, i.e., a survey of industry linkages of technical institutes in partnership with the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for the past seven years. In the year 2019, 9832 institutes participated in the first short survey from which 3842 institutions were invited to enter the full survey out of which 39 institutes were shortlisted for final presentation and EEE department of SRMIST, Kattankulathur was one among them.

All 39 institute had a face-to-face interaction, Dr. K. Vijayakumar HOD/EEE showcased the best practices of industry partnerships on 23rd October 2019. EEE department was awarded for the Best Industry-Linked Institute for Electrical Engineering and Allied.
