Renewable Energy Research Lab (RERL)
This laboratory supports the Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research Scholars of the department in understanding and addressing the key issues in the field of Renewable power generation, energy storage and various electrical applications. The major areas of research focused in this Laboratory are Power maximization Schemes for Renewable Energy like Photovoltaic (PV), Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS), Fuel Cell (FC) systems, design of alkaline electrolyzer systems for hydrogen generation, advanced Li-ion battery systems along with power converter design for stationary and mobile applications.

- Execute complex algorithms with 96 configurable high speed 1/0 Channels with parallel processing power of FPGA
- Control inverters and converters directly without any intermediate circuitry with level shifted PWM channels
- Export or Import data signals from external devices with high-speed Analog and Digital IO’s
- PEM Fuel Cell Stack – 200W, 24V nominal, 8.3A peak, max temperature-65C, External voltage- 13V, SA.
- Fuel cell stack is composed of 40 fuel cells
- Hydrogen must be fed into the fuel cell stack at a pressure of 45-0.55 Bar.

The Research Laboratory has been developed to carry out fundamental research in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In this connection the Under Graduate and Post Graduate project works can be realized in this laboratory. Also, it provides a platform for the research scholars in the department to execute their research work in the field of Power Electronic interfaces for Renewable Energy studies.
- The Laboratory also supports in conducting specific experiments in Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.
- Also, this Laboratory aids in conducting in conducting National and International Short Term Training Programs/ Workshops related with Power Electronics for Renewable Energy/Green Energy/Energy storage Systems.
The facilities available in the Laboratories can be used by the Students and Research Scholars of other institutions with prior permission and approval from the head of the institution.
