SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15th August 2025 at the Kattankulathur campus. The event brought together the Management, Faculty, Staff, and Students to commemorate the nation’s journey of freedom and progress.

The Indian National Flag was hoisted by Group Captain J. R. Thiagarajan, CO 1 TN Air Sqn NCC, Tambaram, who also delivered the Independence Day Address, highlighting the values of unity, discipline, and service to the nation.

Sqn Ldr. Aasmat Kaur Guron, an SRMIST alumnus, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour and delivered the special address, sharing insights from her professional journey and encouraging students to contribute to nation-building.

The celebration concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, reaffirming the collective commitment of the SRMIST community to uphold the ideals of freedom and responsibility.
