SRMIST Athletes Shine at 51st Junior State Aquatic Championship 2025

SRM Institute of Science and Technology made a strong mark at the 51st Junior State Aquatic Championship 2025, held at the SDAT Aquatic Complex in Velachery from July 18 to 20.

Mr. N.A.G. Seeman (RA2531013010018), B.Sc. Physical Education student (1st Year) delivered a stellar performance in diving. He clinched 2 Gold Medals in the 1 Meter Springboard and 3 Meter Springboard events, showcasing impressive control, technique, and consistency.

In swimming, Mr. Sabari Girisan (RA2531013010018), B.Sc. Computer Science student (1st Year) brought an impressive three medals to the institution. He was a part of the following teams and won,

~ GOLD in the 4×200 Meter Freestyle Relay 

~ GOLD in the 4×100 Meter Medley Relay

He also secured an individual BRONZE Medal in the 50 Meter Freestyle, proving his individual strength in the pool as well.

SRM’s advanced infrastructure has played a key role in enabling the level of success. The Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar Aquatic Complex, an Olympic-standard facility established by the Directorate of Sports, SRMIST. The complex features an 8-lane 50-meter competition pool, a 25×15 meter training pool, and a 5-meter-deep diving pool, along with modern filtration systems, temperature control, real-time water quality monitoring, accessibility features, and more. With professional coaching support provided and a structured training environment at the institution, the Directorate of Sports continues to create the conditions necessary for athletes to perform at the highest level in state, national, and international competitions.

These victories not only highlight the individual talent of Seeman and Sabari but also reflect the growing excellence of SRMIST in aquatic sports.
