The SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, welcomed the incoming students of B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Des, and M.Tech (Integrated) programmes under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology through a Grand Induction Ceremony held on August 2 and 3, 2025, followed by a three-day Orientation Programme from August 4 to 6, 2025.
The Induction Ceremony was presided over by Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar, Hon’ble Founder Chancellor of SRMIST, who delivered the Presidential Address. Encouraging students to make the most of their time at SRM, he remarked, “Education isn’t just about sitting in a classroom… it’s about transformation. That’s why we say, ‘Studying at SRM is a lifetime experience.’”
He urged students to take ownership of their growth, emphasising that SRM provides the environment and opportunities—but success depends on individual commitment and effort.
A Warm Welcome by the Vice Chancellor
Dr. C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor, SRMIST, welcomed the new students with a motivating message on collaboration and growth: “Today’s world is not about competition but about collaboration and networking. Step out of your comfort zone and build lifelong connections.”
He highlighted the university’s interdisciplinary ecosystem and strong global alumni network, assuring students of holistic support throughout their academic journey.
The Special Address was delivered by Dr. A. Sivathanu Pillai, Padma Bhushan Awardee and Father of BrahMos. He encouraged students to dream beyond boundaries and strive for excellence: “Think high, have a great aim, acquire knowledge, work hard, and overcome every challenge.”
