The International Conference on 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing Technologies (ICEPAM 2025) commenced today at SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), Kattankulathur, drawing experts and innovators from across the globe. Organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in collaboration with the Additive Manufacturing Society of India, the two-day event promises to be a hub of pioneering discussions and technological showcases.
Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. Vijay Kumar Saraswat, Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University and Member of NITI Aayog, emphasized the disruptive impact of additive manufacturing across sectors. “Additive manufacturing holds transformative potential across sectors from healthcare and aerospace to automotive and consumer products. It is set to redefine the way we design, produce, and innovate,” he stated, urging young engineers to adopt digital fabrication technologies and contribute towards India’s technological self-reliance.
Setting the stage for the event, SRMIST Vice Chancellor Prof. C. Muthamizhchelvan welcomed the gathering and shared the importance of interdisciplinary learning. “Students need to create new knowledge by growing and learning beyond classrooms. Technology is meant to help not just the privileged but also our country’s large rural base,” he remarked.
ICEPAM 2025 features keynote sessions, technical paper presentations, live demonstrations, and industry exhibitions, offering a collaborative platform for researchers, academicians, and industry professionals. With participation from national and international delegates, the conference aims to foster innovation, encourage knowledge exchange, and accelerate the development of advanced manufacturing technologies.
By hosting events such as ICEPAM, SRMIST continues to cement its leadership in promoting research, academic excellence, and industry engagement—championing the future of engineering and technology in India and beyond.
