The Centre of Excellence for Agentic Twins—focusing on Agentic AI, Digital Twins, Metaverse, and AI Robo Lab from the Department of Computational Intelligence had the incredible opportunity to visit Renault Nissan Technology Business Centre India’s (RNTBCI) AI DAY on 18-03-2025, centered around the theme “Data in AI.” The NDA exchange was led by Mr. Debashis Neogi and Dr. Revathi Venkataraman, Chairperson, School of Computing with the support of Ms. Armelle Guerin, Mr. Balasubramanian N, and Dr. R. ANNIE UTHRA, Professor and Head, CINTEL. The faculty team comprises of Dr. R. Udendhran, Dr. R. Babu, Dr. Dinesh G, Dr. Selvakumarasamy, Dr. C. G. Anupama, Dr. J. J. Jayakanth and Ms. Ratna Kumari had the opportunity to set up a project stall, showcasing their work in Agentic AI, Digital Twins, and Metaverse to industry experts.

On January 6, 2025, team met with Anupam Ghosh (Boltzmann Labs) to discuss an interdisciplinary course inspired by the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Key topics included course integration, industry collaboration, and grant opportunities. Boltzmann Labs will share a draft syllabus, while SRM will review its AI and data science courses for alignment.
The course is tentatively planned for inclusion, with Prof. R. Udendhran as the primary contact for collaboration. Both parties committed to aligning the course with industry needs and academic standards.
EVENTS
On January 6, 2025, team met with Prof. Robert Moskovitch (Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel) to explore collaborative research opportunities. Discussions covered AI-driven data analysis, predictive healthcare analytics, and faculty-student exchange programs. Both institutions identified Indo-Israel bilateral funding as a potential avenue for joint projects. A joint task force will be formed to identify specific research areas, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be drafted. A workshop/webinar is planned to engage faculty and students from both institutions.

On January 21, 2025 Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) team visited Lab UB803, to review ongoing projects and explore collaboration opportunities. Discussions covered existing industry partnerships. A follow-up visit was planned to further discuss feasibility and future collaborations, with Lab UB803 preparing a detailed presentation on potential solutions for MRV.
On 27/01/2025, Dr. R. Annie Uthra (Professor & Head, Department of Computational Intelligence), Dr. Revathy Venkataraman (Professor & Chairperson, School of Computing), Dr. R. Udendhran, and Dr. S. Selvakumarasamy visited Mahindra Research Valley to discuss potential collaborations and AI-driven digital twin use cases.

SRMIST collaborated with Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India (RNTBCI) on an AI-powered In-Cabin Gesture Control project from March 11th to April 03rd, 2025. The team developed and integrated gesture-based media control using computer vision, enabling seamless interaction with the car’s multimedia system. The AI model was successfully tested in a trial setup within a test vehicle, ensuring stable performance.
