The Department of English and Foreign Languages, College of Engineering and Technology (CET), SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, organized an insightful workshop on Research Writing and Publishing on 25th March 2025, from 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM at UB 1116.
The session commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Sulagna Mohanty, faculty of the Department of English and Foreign Languages. Dr. L. Kavitha Nair, Head of the Department, the keynote speaker, Mr. Rajesh Dey; and Mr. S. Shankar, the Senior Territory Manager, graced the event.
Mr. Rajesh Dey, Senior Editor at Taylor & Francis Group, provided valuable insights into manuscript structuring, Open Access publishing, copyright issues, and common reasons for manuscript rejection. The workshop covered crucial aspects of the publishing process, including proposal submission, language improvement, and current trends in academic publishing. The interactive session allowed participants to seek guidance on best practices. Dr. L. Kavitha Nair, Head of the Department, played a key role in supporting the initiative.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mohanty, expressing gratitude to the speakers, faculty, and participants. The event proved to be a valuable learning experience, equipping researchers with essential knowledge for successful publishing.
