Obtained B.Sc. (1982) and M.Sc. (1984) in Physics from the University of Madras. Subsequently, obtained Ph.D. in Physics-Biophysics from the University of Madras in 1993 under the guidance of Dr. T. Ramasami. Carried out postdoctoral research in the Department of Chemistry, Arizona State University USA during 1993-1994. Visiting Faculty, Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai 600 036, India & Former Outstanding Scientist/Scientist-H (HAG Level) CSIR – Central Leather Research Institute Adyar, Chennai – 600 020, India
