Dr. M. Pushpalatha is currently serving as the Associate Chairperson, School of Computing, Faculty of Engineering and Technology at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur (SRMIST). She has been with SRM since 1995 and specializes in emerging areas like Quantum Computing, IOT, Microprocessors, Distributed Systems, Operating Systems among other allied areas. The Department of Computing Technologies has a distinguished legacy of running successful programmes and creating talent pool for the industry and has now been restructured to face the foreseeable future demand from the industry for high quality tech talent.

The following are the initiatives taken by me as an Academic Advisor:
- Students were constantly encouraged and motivated to progress in their academics.
- Acted as a MOOC coordinator (2015) for the subject Programming in C offered by IIT. Many students and faculty members successfully completed the course with higher grades.
- I have recommended few of my students to attend ACM summer and winter training programs conducted in IITs across India
- Associated with Fluxgen Engineering technologies to provide internship for students. Three students were selected and one student completed her internship successfully.
- Conducted project expo to encourage pre-final year and final year students. Reviewed by industry experts and cash awards were given for best projects.
- Acted as a mentor to develop a e-project portal (details enclosed in pilot project).
- Acted as a supervisor for final year students who were involved in consultancy project (SkyLim InfoTech Pvt.Ltd.) initiated by the Department.
