Learning a foreign language is more than just acquiring proficiency in one’s mother tongue; it offers independence in communication, reading, and opens up new possibilities for global career opportunities. Learning a foreign language can boost students’ marketability in international business, diplomacy, and tourism. Germany offers a low cost of living and affordable education, making it an attractive option for those interested in learning the German language. A knowledge-sharing session was conducted between nursing students and representatives of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, focusing on career opportunities in Germany. The program also discussed the possibility of introducing German as an elective subject at SRMIST, and the cooperation between SRMIST and Goethe Institute. These meetings aim to highlight the scope of study and career opportunities in Germany and encourage future programs to further students’ insights and academic journeys.
